Winter Has Arrived

Short Range Forecast

Conditions should be dry except for a few flurries in the Northwoods. Most locations will be in the upper 30s on Tuesday, dropping to a high only in the teens on Wednesday . You will notice the wind once again. It will be out of the northwest at 15-25 mph with some gusts higher than that. And the wind chill will make it feel more like 10. Thankfully, there will be a good amount of sunshine. There will also be a few lake effect snow showers in the far north tonight into early tomorrow, but not too much accumulation.

The wind will be lighter on Thursday as the clouds increase ahead of low pressure system moving in from the west. The weather system will eventually bring some snow to our area late Thursday night into Friday morning. Snow amounts could be in the range of 1 to 3 inches. Drive carefully on Friday morning. Snow should end around midday on Friday, then it looks quiet with more sun on Saturday. Highs will be in the upper 20’s on both days.

Long Range Forecast 5-10 Day

A stronger storm system will move into Wisconsin on Sunday and stick around through Tuesday. It could bring some accumulating snow. It will likely start out as snow on Sunday afternoon and evening, then turn into a wintry mix and rain on Monday and Tuesday. Highs next week look to be in the mid to upper 30’s which will be good for a snow maker at this point. Any ones guess right now on how much snow will fall, but right now the GFS models are showing significant amounts of moisture. We will know better next weekend the track and temperatures this low front will take.
